June 27th, 2020 – Raleigh, NC – Two Raleigh-based education companies bringing high quality hands-on learning to students everywhere have joined forces. Betabox, Inc. has acquired the assets of Imagicode, LLC, a respected local provider of computer science summer and track out camps on undisclosed terms.
Imagicode LLC was founded by Adam Bowker and Justin Leonard, and has focused on creating engaging in-person STEAM experiences for students in topics such as drones, python scripting, game design, app development, and more.
Betabox, since its origin, has primarily focused on helping low-income K12 schools accelerate their adoption of project-based learning and hands-on curricula by providing Onsite Field Trips to schools throughout the southeast. In the past year Betabox has begun to expand upon this offering by providing in-classroom kits and lesson plans for teachers on an online platform.
As a result of this transaction, existing Imagicode customers can expect continued access to Adam and Justin’s course content and engaging teaching style in the form of Betabox eCamps. eCamps are week-long live courses in STEM topics that are now open for registration here. Each eCamp includes a hands-on kit that is shipped prior to the session start date.
For existing Betabox customers, including teachers and administrators throughout the southeast, an expansion of the in-classroom content can be anticipated. By adding to an already growing repository of high-quality hands-on lesson plans and kits, we are furthering the mission of helping learners of all backgrounds hone their tech skills.
